- The DPP said the vehicle was being used as an exhibit and therefore cannot be released
- He said the Government Chemist was also yet to release a forensic report after dusting the car
- Maribe and her lover Joseph Irungu were charged with the murder of Monica Kimani
- Although the TV girl was freed on KSh 2 million bail, her car and boyfriend were not released
Citizen TV's news anchor Jacque Maribe may have to wait a little longer before she can drive her car again after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji, dashed her hope of getting back the vehicle.
Haji said Maribe's car will remain in police custody until the ongoing investigation into the murder of business lady Monica Nyawira Kimani is concluded.
"The car belonging to Maribe will not be released until the Government Chemist officials avail forensic report on dusting," the DPP tweeted.
The embattled TV journalist had sued Haji over contempt of court.
In the case filed by her lawyer Katwa Kigen, the news anchor wanted the DPP to give her back her house and car that remained in police custody even after her release.
