Super Falcons of Nigeria have been given a prestigious recognition by the African football governing body (CAF) who nominated them for 2018 National award.
Falcons were nominated for the 2018 African women's National team of the year award after winning the Nations Cup on a record nine times.
Nigeria defeated South Africa at the final of the 2018 Women's Nations Cup to win their ninth AWCON title in Ghana.
The Super Falcons will now face serious competition from Cameroon and South Africa who are the two other National teams nominated for the award.

Expected on the list is Super Falcons' striker Asisat Oshoala who is the current holder of the award.
Two of her teammates at the national team who are Fracisca Ordega and Onome Ebi also made the list released by CAF via their official twitter handle.
Oshoala, Ordega and Ebi were impressive for Nigeria at the just concluded 2018 Women's Nations Cup in Ghana where they beat South Africa to win the title.
