The People’s Republic of China has stated that it won't interfere in Nigeria's elections taking place on Saturday, February 23.
The disclosure was made on Thursday, February 21, by the spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Geng Shuang, while addressing members of the media during a press conference, Daily Trust reports.
The spokesman also added that his country “hopes and believes” that Nigeria’s presidential and National Assembly elections will be held “successfully and smoothly”.
Shuang noted Nigeria’s “importance” to Africa's development and that of the global community.
Onyeama said that Nigeria, being a sovereign nation, would not allow herself to be dictated to, since she would not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.
