LIVE UPDATES: Day 2: Buhari continues to lead as results of more states are released


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, February 26, resumed the declaration of the official results for the recently held presidential election.
The INEC had earlier declared the results for the Federal Capital Territory and some states showing that President Muhammadu Buhari was leading.
Anxiety continues as the declaration of results continue. Prof Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of INEC, says the electoral umpire is sure to complete the declaration.
Mahmood announces the resumption of the national collation for 2019 presidential election. Calls on collation officer for Niger state.

Total number of registered voters: 2,375,568
Total number of accredited voters: 911,964
And a total of 25 Local government elections areas, which according to the collation officer all successfully had elections in those areas.

Ex-Nissan chief Ghosn seeks permission to attend board meeting on Tuesday - Yomiuri

TOKYO (Reuters) - Ousted Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn is seeking permission from the Tokyo District Court to attend the company's board meeting on Tuesday, Yomiuri newspaper reported on Monday.
